Ανακοίνωση για σημερινό μάθημα ΙΝΧ173 (Α. Katz)

Welcome to INX 173!

History of Science and Technology in World History

Please accept my sincere apologies for not meeting with you in-person today, but sometimes spontaneous, community-engaged learning is the best way to evaluate your interest in a specific subject and allows you to connect with history more directly.

If you are serious about (or seriously considering) enrolling in this course, here is your first assignment:

• Working independently (or in small groups with no more than four members), complete my Carnival “Engineering Power” Treasure Hunt before midnight on Sunday, 15 February.

• To receive the packet of clues, you must email me as soon as possible (make sure to properly introduce yourself) at amanda.katz@uoc.gr.

• Please approach the treasure hunt as thoughtfully as you can – do not worry about whether you are “right” or “wrong” – and provide detailed, thoughtful answers to all my questions.

• You should use the packet as a guide and take notes during the exploration.

• Upon completing the treasure hunt, you (or one of your group members) should type and email the completed packet to me no later than 23:59 on Sunday, 15 February.

• Lastly, open your minds and have fun with this! It is essential for you to approach the history of science and technology on your own terms before I present to you ascholarly argument regarding their existence and relationship to each other.

I very much look forward to working with you this semester, and I will see you all in Room 65 on Thursday, 19 February.

Happy hunting,

Prof. Katz
