The University of Crete invites interested faculty members, researchers and postdoctoral scholars to apply for the 2026–2027 CSCSA Scholar Fellowship Program, offered by the Chinese School of Classical Studies at Athens (CSCSA).
The fellowship supports 3–12-month research residencies in Athens for scholars working in Classical Studies, Archaeology, History, Philosophy, Cultural Heritage, and related disciplines, with a strong emphasis on cross-cultural and comparative research.
Funding
✔ €4,000/month for Senior Scholars
✔ €3,000/month for Early-Career Scholars
✔ Round-trip airfare to Athens (reimbursed)
✔ Office space, library access, research infrastructure and access to archaeological resources
✔ Possibility to nominate one collaborative researcher (funded for up to 3 months)
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a PhD. Senior Scholars should have an established academic record, while Early-Career Scholars should be within five years of completing their PhD.
