The International Symposium on Ancient DNA and Proteins and the Kafatos Lecture 2026 will be held on 9 October 2026 at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB), Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.
The event will bring together internationally renowned experts in ancient biomolecular research to present the latest advances in ancient DNA and palaeoproteomics. A particular honor of this year’s event is the Kafatos Lecture, which will be delivered by Professor Svante Pääbo, recipient of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and pioneer in ancient DNA research.
This is a unique scientific event, dedicated to the biomolecular discoveries that shed light on human history.
