1997: Ph.D. in Art History at the Department of History and Archaeology of the Philosophy School of the University of Crete upon submitting his dissertation The Participation of Greece at the Venice Biennale, 1934-1940.

1987: MS of Philosophy of Art and Aesthetics at the Université Paris I - Panthéon- Sorbonne (DEA).

1985: MS in Art History at the Université Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne (DEA)

1983: Bachelor of the School of Fine Arts in Athens

2014 to present: Professor of Art History at the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete.

2009 - 2014: Associate Professor of Art History at the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete.

Research Activities-Ιnterests:

His research interests are in Art History issues of the 19th and 20th century. More specifically in defining the role played by the Greek State and other administrative bodies in the Arts, and the mechanisms for assimilation of Modern European Art in Greece, as recorded both in the work of artists and in the areas of ideology, aesthetic theory and art criticism.
